Tonight we head north to Los Angeles then London. It is a one stop trip and a little after 26 hours of leaving New Zealand we will be in London.
Due to an inherent fascination with weather, I looked up the weather forecast for both London and Zurich. It is going to be cold in both - it is predicted to be about 10 degrees in London and 6-8 degrees in Zurich. That is New Zealand's winter temperatures. In many ways we are having to take both winter and summer clothes. A bit of a packing dilemma given the bag is quite small and we need to take our cycling gear as well.
As is usual I had a lousy sleep last night; nervous anticipation would be the best term to describe it. Hopefully this will aid sleeping tonight.
Today is finishing the packing, making sure that I have enough money, and going to the gym as we are not going to be doing much exercise for the following 36 hours.
Today in Wellington it is beautiful - warm, sunny and calm. On days like this I would quite happily remain in Wellington. However, adventure is fun and we are going places that we have not been to before. It was tempting to go for a bike ride but I think I will give that a rest today. Yesterday I did manage about 32 kilometres and if you know Wellington's topography that is always real exercise.
The next post will be from London - mostly a comment on the flight.
